On Friday April 29th, the Worcester Public Schools is taking part of the “Stand for the Silent" Day. Stand for the Silent has become one of the leading and most effective anti-bullying organizations, whose mission is to bring awareness to bullying and the real devastation it causes.

The Worcester Public Library has a variety of special events and programs planned for school vacation week at the Main Library from Tuesday, April 19 to Saturday, April 23.

Splash offers a full day of over 100 classes taught by Clark students to over 400 local students in grades 5-12. We believe that by giving students the opportunity and freedom to take classes outside of the traditional K-12 curriculum, they will become more curious, motivated, and engaged learners as they kindle new and old passions. Splash classes include introductions to advanced academic topics, hands on experiments, discussions of current issues, and visual and performing arts lessons.

11th Annual Book Drive

The kick off for the eleventh annual book drive by Worcester: the City that Reads Committee to collect books (Prek to grade 8) for summer reading begins on March 21st  with its theme of "Spring into Books" and will continue until May 15th. The Committee was founded by John and Anne-Marie Monfredo twelve years ago in an attempt to promote literacy in the community, put books into the hands of children who lack books in their homes, and to promote the importance of being a life time reader.

City of Worcester ordinances require property owners to clear snow and ice in front of and adjacent to their property. Property owners can be fined $75 per day and/or assessed the cost of removal by the City if they do not clear snow and iceDo your part to keep sidewalks, curb-cuts, and ramps clear of snow and ice!

You all have heard of the No Child Left Behind Act that brought many layers of accountability to schools and school districts. I refer to it, not because of what the act represented, but because of the powerful message behind the words "No Child Left Behind".

Congratulations MLK Jr. Art Contest Winners and Teachers

Congratulations to the students who won or placed in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay/Art contest and whose work will be on display at the Worcester Historical Museum from January 12, 2016 through February 27, 2016. They will be honored on January 30 at the Historical Museum beginning at 1 pm.
